Automated production changeover thanks to purging
The main advantage of using a flexible feeding system is the ability to feed a variety of parts using a single device. This versatility means that the system can produce one type of part one day and another type the next. However, when production of one type of part is complete, some components may still be left on the platform. In order to smoothly transition to the production of a new part, manual or automated actions are required to purge the system.
To streamline this purging process, Asyril offers a purging option directly integrated into the Asycube. For the Asycube 240, 380 and 530, the purge option is located on the side, while for the Asycube 50 and 80 it is located under the hopper.
How do I make sure my system is empty?
Ensuring the platform is empty is very import when purging your system. To address this concern, we have developed the advanced purge feature available in EYE+ 4.3. This feature allows the system to automatically verify that the platform is empty, while the hopper and Asycube vibrate to purge the system.
Based on a reference image of an empty platform, the system continuously compares this image with the current state of the platform to detect any remaining parts. This optimized purging sequence ensures reliable production changeover in an efficient time frame.
This feature is compatible with all Asycube feeders, including the Asycube 50 and 80. If your system is already equipped with Asyril purge, you can take advantage of this feature immediately by updating your EYE+ controller. Simply take a reference image from your recipe and replace the duration of your “purge full” or “purge plate” command with 0 in your robot program.
The benefits of the advanced purge
- Optimize part changeover efficiency
- Ensure that the Asycube platform is empty
- Simplify purge configuration with a dedicated step in your recipe
